Cap

Conical to bell shaped, expanding with age, usually with a central bump, smooth to fibrillose, yellow, orange or red, to about 5 cm across

Gills

Crowded, yellow, then brown, edge paler

Stem

Cylindrical, pale yellow, decorated with remains of the orange red veil except at the apex

Flesh

Reddish yellow in the cap, yellow in the stem, yellow to yellow brown in the stem base

Smell

Indistinct or faintly of iodoform

Taste

Unpleasant
